Returns & Refunds Policy

Purist Peptides supplies lyophilised research compounds strictly for laboratory research use. Product integrity depends on an intact seal and correct storage, so this policy distinguishes between sealed stock and opened stock. It is read together with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA). Nothing in this policy removes or limits a right you have under that Act.

1. Sealed, unopened stock — 7-day return window

Sealed, unopened products in their original packaging may be returned within 7 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. The vial seal, cap and label must be intact and the product must not have been reconstituted or tampered with. Because orders placed on this website are concluded by direct marketing, this window gives effect to the cooling-off right in sections 16 and 20 of the CPA; where the 7-day window is longer than the statutory period, the 7-day window applies.

2. Opened or reconstituted vials — not returnable

Once a vial has been opened, punctured or reconstituted it cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded, except under section 3 below. Lyophilised peptides are moisture-sensitive compounds: an opened vial cannot be verified as sterile or stable and cannot be re-supplied to another laboratory. This exclusion is on hygiene and stability grounds only.

3. Defective, damaged or incorrect goods — six-month implied warranty

Under section 56 of the CPA every product we supply carries an implied warranty of quality for six months from delivery. If a product arrives damaged, is defective, does not match its description or certificate of analysis, or is not what you ordered, you may return it within that period and we will, at your election, replace it or refund it. Opened or reconstituted vials are covered by this section where the defect is in the product itself.

Please report transit damage within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the outer packaging and the vial where possible. This helps us recover from the courier; a later report does not remove your warranty right.

4. Cancellation before dispatch

An order may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before it is dispatched. Email us with the order number; if the parcel has already left our premises the return terms above apply.

5. How to start a return or claim

Email info@puristpeptides.com with:

your order number;
the product(s) concerned;
whether the return is a change of mind (sealed stock) or a defect, damage or incorrect-item claim;
photographs of the packaging and vial for any damage or defect claim.

We respond within one business day with a return reference and instructions. Please do not send goods back without a return reference, as unreferenced parcels cannot be matched to an order.

6. Return shipping — who pays

Change of mind (sealed stock): you arrange and pay for return shipping and are responsible for the goods until they reach us. Use a tracked courier. Original delivery charges are not refunded.
Defective, damaged or incorrect goods: we pay. We will arrange courier collection at our cost or refund your return postage against a receipt.

7. Inspection and refund timing

Returned goods are inspected on receipt. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 15 business days of our receiving the goods, or, where no physical return is required, within 15 business days of the claim being approved. Exchanges are dispatched on the same timeline.

8. What this policy does not cover

Deterioration caused by storage or handling after delivery that departs from the storage guidance on the product page (for example, reconstituted product left unrefrigerated).
Minor cosmetic damage to outer packaging that does not affect the vial or its seal.
Courier delays outside our control. A parcel confirmed lost by the courier is replaced or refunded in full.
Failed delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied at checkout.
